The Arc, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious organizations serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, has issued a call for presenters for its 2016 National Convention and International Forum on October 27-29 in Orlando, Florida.
The call for proposals asks for presentations on a variety of topics that special needs planners may be familiar with, including community inclusion, future planning and person-centered planning and supporting families. Proposals, which should include a working title, short description, explanation of delivery style and list of potential outcomes, are due on Friday, April 1st. The Arc is also pushing to expand its Future Planning website, which seeks to connect consumers with special needs planners and financial professionals who can help put together person-centered plans for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Attorneys can sign up to be listed on the site, with special rates currently available. To learn more, click here.
