In Special Needs News

Scott SolkoffFlorida ASNP member Scott Solkoff has been selected to receive the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys’ 2016 John J. Regan Writing Award for his article “Report on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act: Its Impact on the Special Needs and Elder Law Practice.”  The award is given by the editors of the NAELA Journal to recognize the best article that appeared in the previous year’s edition of the journal.

NAELA praised Mr. Solkoff’s article for providing “a clear and concise overview of the Affordable Care Act’s many provisions, with direct citations to the statute, regulations, and relevant case law.  The piece is a useful primer on the law and a call to advocacy. [Solkoff’s] analysis of how the implementation of the ACA affects elder law and special seeds planning and [his] specific recommendations for adjustment in counseling and representation of elder clients and clients with disabilities will be a reference for both practitioners and students alike.”
